Katelyn MaryBeth

This is a picture of my one year old grandaughter Katelyn. She is modeling a headband I made for her.
I bought her outfit at Gymboree and made the headband later but it matches really well.
I just had to share a photo of her sitting in her Poppy's lap before he leaves for work.
I wrapped the headband in pink satin ribbon, added tulle behind the large flower and glued it al together. I am learning. I am also trying to learn to make hairbows so stay tuned in for photos of those. Thanks for looking and come back soon. Mary

VC Rocks June Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Blog Hop of athe VC Rocks Yahoo Group...
Our home page is: vcrocks at: http://vcrocks.blogspot.com/
You can always start the hop there. We have 33 blogs to share with you. Hope you take the time to visit them all. You will find a lot of talent in this group of stampers.
You may have arrived from the blog:
 Diane Clark-Sutton Stampin Ldygflr62 http://www.stampinldyglfr62.blogspot.com/
If not then I hope you go back and check out what she has to  share.

Welcome to my blog, I am so glad you stopped by. I hope you will return for another visit soon.
This month we are showcasing the Big Shot machine,
I chose to use the embossing folder Flower Garden. This is in the Summer Mini Catalog.

Here are the details:
Paper: Perfect Plum,: card
Whisper White : 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 and 2 1/2 x 5 1/4
 Subtles Patterns Stack of Designer Paper: 1 1/4 x 5 and 2 1/4 x 5
Ribbon: 5/8 Whisper white Organza  (9.5 inches)
Embossing Folder: Flower Garden
Sanding Block

After running the DSP through the Big Shot I taped it down to the white paper before using the sanding block on the flower. If you don't then the DSP tears easily.

My second photo shows the card with a greeting. Just a simple Thinking of You.
I used a scrap of Whisper White paper and Perfect Plum ink.
I used the Word Window large punch and then using the Mat Pack and the paper piercing tool I punched a hole in the end and strung it with the White Baker's Twine. I then tied it on the ribbon and let it hang down.

My card is very simple and easy and can be made in any color. Make some up and leave the greeting off so you can grab one when needed to write a personel note inside.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Your next stop on this blog hop is Brenda Hugar at Brenda's Stampin Corner:http://brendasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/
I  hope you will stop by her blog to see her share.
Thanks for visiting.   Mary

Tempting Turquoise

Tempting Turquoise... not a paper I usually reach for. I wanted to give it a try.
Paper: Tempting turquoise, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, and whisper white
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz
Stamps: Bring on the cake
Acc: Flower Garden embossing folder, Daffodil delight ribbon, Eyelet border punch, large oval punch and decorative label punch, sponge daubers.

This is a time consuming card and yet simple. The time consuming part is all the  cutting out of the flowers and stems. Otherwise it is a simple card. If you have any questions please ask. Thanks for looking, Mary

Color Challenge

The color challenge was to use Early Espresso, and two colors of your choice from the subtles color family.
I chose Pretty in Pink and Wild Wasabi. I also used white.
I cut out a white top note with the big shot. I placed it on top of Pretty in Pink and cut that out a little larger and then put that on top of Wild wasabi and cut that out a little larger.
Fabulous Florets stamps. I stamped the flowers in pretty in pink on white paper and cut them out.I also used pretty in pink ribbon.
Thanks for looking.

Hello Card

This is my first time using a new stamp. It is from the new Summer Mini catalog. Hello Blossoms is the name of the stamp. I love the stamp but it is hard to color. I used my markers but I am not pleased with the coloring.
I will give it another try later and post. Maybe with better results.

This is also my first try at a 3x6 card

Stamp: Hello Blossoms
Paper: Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink, Old olive and whisper white
Ink: Markers
Acc: Scallop border punch
